WHERE WE ARE
Situated to the south and towards the Veneto plain, this part of Trentino is rich in history, townships, villages, mountains, countryside, as well as tastes and tradition. Latin and Central European civilizations have left us numerous examples of a pleasant kind of cultural influence.
In fact, along the course of the River Adige, between Trento and Verona, Vallagarina enchants with its museums and castles, Baroque architecture and unspoilt landscapes, its monuments and theatres, gardens and cultivated fields, all of which make up a pictorial view which is hugely varied yet also almost unchanged in time. What’s more, it’s a succession of vineyards, where wine, Spumante sparkling wine and valued Grappa spirit is produced along with other products in this land of rare quality.
Then, Rovereto is the refined, finely drawn, sweet-smelling township at the centre, as point of reference.
There are still many traces of Roveretan Venetian domination from the XV century, well established with entire avenues reminding us of the Hapsburg Empire, which had dominated here until 1918.
But, suspended between avant garde and tradition, Rovereto expects us to immerse ourselves in historic and contemporary culture: The Mart Gallery and Futurist Depero House of Art, The Historic War Museum and The Bell of the Fallen, The Civic Museum and the Alberti Poja Palace.
So, we have history and art, but not only this. The native people of this land work hard at transforming their local age-old products into excellent foodstuffs and beverages by using their extraordinary methods.
